Title: Asst Dir-Data Scientist
Location: 7 World Trade Center, 250 Greenwich Street, New York, NY 10007 (Principal place of business – telecommuting permitted)
Duties: Develop and maintain statistical and machine learning models that support improved user experiences in various products and business operational processes. Perform various technical work involving the machine learning development process, including conducting sound data analysis through model training and evaluation. Provide high-quality data analysis and analytical solutions that support business objectives. Use statistical techniques to create scalable solutions, communicating and iterating problem-identification and problem-solving with business stakeholders. Design and implement analytical models and participate in design of data aggregation and reporting solutions, including gathering requirements and communicating results. Work with open-source data science related languages and frameworks and various cloud providers, such as Databricks, AWS, and GCP. Develop an understanding of the Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) lifecycle, including deployment frameworks, microservice paradigms, and serialization methods. Apply understanding of modeling techniques involving non-tabular data, including networks, computer vision, or Natural Language Processing (NLP). Perform large-scale data analysis and develop effective statistical models for segmentation, classification, optimization, and time series. Work in project squads, adhering to project management best practices, and maintain active participation in team ceremonies. Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to ensure maintenance of data engineering best practices within compliance and Anti-Money Laundering (AML). Telecommuting Permitted (100% telecommuting position. Will consider applicants resident in the continental U.S.).
Requirements: Requires a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Data Analytics, Statistics, Engineering, or a closely related technical field plus at least three (3) years of experience as a Data Analyst, Quantitative Analyst, or in a related position performing econometric and statistical modeling. Must have experience with the following: conducting large-scale data mining and analysis within the financial industry; working with analytical programming languages such as Python, SQL, and R, and frameworks such as Spark, Databricks, and related; working with machine learning and AI tooling such as Spark ML, MLFlow, Pytorch, or Langchain for various NLP workloads; working with BI tooling such as Tableau, PowerBI, and various python visualization libraries; using Cloud computing and ML production deployment through AWS; using machine learning algorithms with large scale financial data and geospatial data in cloud environments to identify and analyze market patterns and trends; applying knowledge of financial markets and statistical and empirical methods to analyze models and query structured data; and establishing scalable, efficient, and automated processes for large scale data analyses, model development, model validation, and model implementation. For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $139,506 to $192,300/yr, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
