I am looking for someone to help on any or all of the following shifts and/or serve as a backup when other caregivers take time off or have a last-minute cancellation:
- Weekday mornings, ~7:30 AM, 2-2.5 hour shift, June 13-28.
- Several evenings in July/August (days tbd), ~7 PM, 2-3 hour shift.
I am a high-level quadriplegic. I need help taking medications, urinary care, getting dressed/undressed, stretching, transferring to and from bed/power wheelchair/commode chair using a Hoyer lift, setting out meals, exercises, and other ADLs. I will need help with my bowel program and showering (typically done every other evening). Just a heads up, I have a very friendly 2 year-old lab mix.
My ideal caregiver is dependable, on time, easy to talk to, and willing to adapt to the situation. No specialized skills are needed; we will train you to my specific needs and will share all we know about spinal cord injuries and rehabilitation if you are curious. I need someone strong enough to be able to pull me back in my chair while I am tilted back.
I like gardening and being outdoors in general, as well as listening to comedy.
