Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Automotive Service Manager to lead our service department. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in auto service management and demonstrate exceptional leadership skills. This role involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring customer satisfaction, and managing a team of skilled technicians. The Automotive Service Manager will play a crucial role in maintaining high standards of service quality while driving sales and efficiency within the department.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the automotive service department, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality service.
- Manage and train a team of mechanics and technicians, fostering a positive work environment that encourages professional growth.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Monitor service performance metrics and implement strategies to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Coordinate scheduling for service appointments, ensuring timely completion of repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed, parts used, and customer interactions.
- Collaborate with sales teams to promote service offerings, including brake repair, tire service, shocks/struts replacement, and auto body repair.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies within the service department.
Skills
- Proven experience in auto service management or a related field.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair, including brake systems, tire services, shocks/struts, and suspension work.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team of technicians.
- Strong customer service orientation with effective communication skills.
- Proficiency in sales techniques related to automotive services to drive revenue growth.
- Ability to transmit technical information clearly to both customers and team members.
- Familiarity with dealership operations is preferred but not mandatory.
- General Motors experience is a plus.
