Baker
We are hiring passionate individuals to join our bakery team. This is a hands-on, baking position with a strong emphasis on learning to craft traditional French croissants, as well as Italian baguettes and focaccia breads. You will receive on-the-job training from our Head Baker and work as part of a collaborative and supportive kitchen environment.
Reports to: Head Baker
Duties:
- Assist in preparing and baking artisan breads and pastries including croissants, baguettes, and focaccia
- Learn and follow traditional recipes and techniques with a focus on consistency and quality
- Scale, mix, shape, and proof dough under the guidance of the Head Baker
- Monitor baking times and oven temperatures to ensure optimal results
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Support inventory control by labeling, rotating, and storing ingredients and baked goods properly
- Help with general kitchen duties, cleaning, and prep work as needed
- Arrive on time for assigned shifts and be prepared for a fast-paced production schedule
Skills & Requirements:
- A passion for baking and a willingness to learn specialized techniques
- Experience in baking bread and laminated/fermented dough pastries is preferred, but not required
- Ability to follow directions precisely and work independently when needed
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards
- Physical ability to lift heavy bags of flour, stand for long periods, and work in a hot environment
- Team-oriented attitude and strong work ethic
- Availability for early morning shifts and weekend work
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
