Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for coffee and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of beverages and food items while ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. Your role will involve utilizing your skills in time management, sales, and food safety to create an enjoyable experience for all customers.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee beverages, teas, and other specialty drinks
- Operate the Aloha POS or Micros POS systems efficiently to process customer orders
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, adhering to food safety standards
- Engage with customers in a friendly manner, providing excellent customer service
- Handle cash transactions accurately, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed
- Assist in food preparation and serving food items as needed
- Manage inventory levels and assist with restocking supplies when necessary
- Demonstrate knowledge of retail math to ensure accurate pricing and sales reporting
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive work environment
Experience
- Previous barista experience is preferred but not required; coffee experience is a plus
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha or Micros is advantageous
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with guests
- Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management
- Knowledge of food safety practices and food handling regulations within the food industry
