Job Description: Barista
Location: Terra Cafe Company – McAllen, TX
Reports To: Shift Supervisor / Store Manager
Position Summary
As a Barista at Terra Cafe, you will be the face of our company, creating exceptional coffee, tea, and specialty beverages while providing warm, welcoming customer service. You will ensure every guest enjoys a memorable café experience that reflects Terra Cafe’s values of quality, hospitality, and community.
Key Responsibilities Customer Service
- Greet customers with a friendly, positive attitude.
- Accurately take orders and provide product knowledge, including drink customization and menu recommendations.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing concerns promptly and professionally.
Beverage & Food Preparation
- Prepare coffee, espresso, teas, matcha, and specialty drinks to Terra Cafe standards.
- Follow recipes and presentation standards to maintain consistency.
- Assist in preparing light food items and pastries as required.
Operations & Cleanliness
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
- Restock supplies such as cups, lids, syrups, milk, and coffee beans as needed.
- Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, blenders, and POS systems.
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
Teamwork & Efficiency
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth operations during shifts.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including cash handling, cleaning, and restocking.
- Support special events, promotions, and seasonal product launches.
Qualifications
- Previous barista or food service experience preferred but not required (training provided).
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Punctual, reliable, and team-oriented.
- Basic math and cash-handling skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Comfortable working with hot equipment and beverages.
Schedule & Compensation

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $9.00 - $10.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week
