Barista

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Barista to join our dynamic team. As a Barista, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, preparing and serving high-quality beverages, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for our customers.

Duties

• Greet customers and take orders in a friendly and efficient manner
• Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including boba, coffee, tea, and specialty drinks
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the coffee bar and surrounding areas
• Handle cash transactions and operate a point-of-sale (POS) system
• Provide excellent customer service and handle customer complaints or issues
• Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods
• Prepare and package food items, such as pastries and sandwiches
• Manage time effectively to meet customer demand and maintain a high level of service
• Maintain a thorough understanding of retail math, including handling cash and making change
• Meet or exceed sales goals and provide recommendations to customers
• Utilize a POS system, including Square POS, to process transactions and manage inventory
• Perform basic math calculations, such as making change and calculating tips
• Prepare food and drinks according to company standards and health regulations
• Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas to maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety

Experience

• Previous experience as a Barista or in a related customer service role is preferred
• Knowledge of food preparation and handling practices
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to maintain a high level of energy and enthusiasm during peak hours
• Basic math skills and cash handling experience
• Familiarity with POS systems and retail math
• Experience with food preparation and presentation
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $17.50 per hour
