Job Description
We are currently seeking a Billing Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate billing of invoices and invoice lists (both regulars and “Specials”), ensuring that each customer’s unique billing requirements are met. This position also requires creating, updating and correcting invoices as needed. Applicants should bring exceptional customer service skills when interacting with both customers and internal departments. The ideal candidate also demonstrates strong administrative capabilities.
A day on the job looks like this:
- Creating manual DM invoices and manual credit memos
- Handling crediting/rebilling, including determining whether a full credit/rebill is needed or identifying next steps
- Making billing corrections and edits, and processing invoice cancellations as needed
- Creating “master” invoices when different formats are needed
- Responding to ad hoc invoice copy requests (paid and unpaid) via email and/or phone
- Processing “Portal Billing” for designated customers
- Scanning, editing, saving and renaming customer documents in dedicated folders
- Printing and signing customer Declaration Claim forms
- Providing proof of deliveries and packing lists
- Assisting with project-based invoices when needed
- Noting customer accounts in Process Receivables and creating “Disputes” for Class Wallet-funded invoices or those requiring special handling
- Managing invoice lists and/or child invoices (creating, editing or cancelling)
- Creating or providing ad hoc statement of accounts
- Signing LLM Invoice Documents (Claimants Cert)
- Handling SPE File Reports—dropping off and picking up invoices from LPS
- Investigating and clearing unprocessed billing documents or billing blocks daily
- Managing internal and external payment inquiries relating to prepaid orders
- Contacting internal and external customers regarding prepayment discrepancies
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

- 3+ years of experience with collections, billing, and/or invoicing
- Customer service experience a plus Collections, billing or customer service experience a plus
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Bachelor’s degree is a plus
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Excellent written, verbal and oral communication skills
- Collections, billing or customer service experience a plus
- Exceptional customer service skills with both customers and internal teams
- High-level administrative skills
- A strong sense of urgency and a proactive, “can-do” attitude
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills

At Lakeshore, we pay local market wages for employees that reside within Los Angeles and Orange Counties.
For this position, new employees joining Lakeshore who live within Los Angeles and Orange Counties are typically brought into the organization at an hourly rate between $22.36 - $26.00 depending on relevant experience & skillset.
This range is indicative of projected hiring range. The annual base compensation will take into account each candidate's relevant experience, location, and skillset.
