Position Summary
To provide all bookkeeping functions in the store, and to follow all store policies relating to this position. You are instrumental in the cash flow of this store. Without your accuracy, all the facilities, equipment and great merchandising techniques will never reach their potential.
Job Duties
- Helps to maintain a clean and safe environment to work and shop.
- Effective communication with team members and supervisors to build and maintain morale.
- Knowledge of company policies, programs, and procedures.
- Promote a harassment-free work and shopping environment, and immediately reports any potential harmful situation.
- Continually strives to build knowledge and skills, both personally and within the department.
- Proper product handling, case cutting, price marking, rotation, facing, and display of merchandise.
- Follow through and achieve all company policies, programs, and directives.
- Is a team player and able to do the jobs/tasks asked by others.
- Maintain quality standards within the department and store.
- Assist guests to help improve their shopping experience.
- Completes tasks efficiently and in a timely manner
- Enforce the following of all bookkeeping procedures in all departments by working with the Store Director and Department Managers.
- Balance books, prepare deposit, and account for cash, handling and counting money accurately and in a timely manner.
- Always maintain adequate and appropriate department records and supplies, including reports, passes, licenses, coupons, checks, billings, etc.
- Assist in store data using Microsoft Office and Accounting Software.
- Daily maintenance of time and attendance entries in appropriate program.
- Able to identify errors made by others and correct them.
- Assist any other office position to better the overall effectiveness of the store.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and maintenance of assigned area to maintain clean, organized conditions.
Experience: Experience as a bookkeeper, cashier, or in an accounting field is preferred.
Minimum Age: 18 Years or older
Equipment use: Experience in the operation of a ten key, computer, cash register, copy and fax machine.
Physical Abilities: Regularly required to walk, sit, stand, twist, and bend; repetitive use of hands and arms to push, pull, carry, lift, reach, grip, and balance; occasionally stoop, crouch, kneel, or crawl. Use of step stool and ladder. Lifting 60+ pounds and may include floor to shoulder and overhead.
Communication: Ability to write, speak, hear and/or understand the spoken word in order to respond promptly to team members and guests needs. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals.
Education: High School Diploma or GED; or related job experience and/or training.
