Description
Serves as a building supervisor in a middle or alternative school or in an administrative building; supervises custodial staff and participates in the full range of cleaning, maintenance, operation, and security activities; oversees custodial training program for assigned staff.
Qualifications
Required
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or possession of a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) certificate.
- One (1) year of experience in public building custodial operations, in a custodial personnel oversight or supervision role.
- Must successfully complete the FCPS Custodial Certification Course prior to or within one (1) year of appointment.
- May be required to work an evening and/or night shift on a regular or rotating basis.
- Knowledge of custodial methods, equipment, procedures, and cleaning materials.
- Ability to train, assign, supervise, and inspect the work of assigned staff.
- Ability to understand and interpret written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to maintain records and prepare routine reports.
- Ability to recognize and report hazards and apply safe work methods.
- Ability to work cooperatively with employees, students, and the public.
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
