Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Reporting Business Analyst to join our team, responsible for transforming complex healthcare data into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making. This role combines in-depth knowledge of the healthcare industry with analytical expertise to support reporting initiatives across clinical, operational, and financial domains.


Key Responsibilities:

Requirements Gathering & Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with clinical leaders, operations teams, and executives to identify reporting needs and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews and workshops to understand data requirements, success metrics, and reporting objectives.
  • Document functional requirements and create detailed project specifications for reporting initiatives.
  • Manage competing priorities and communicate project timelines to stakeholders across the organization.

Data Analysis & Metrics Development


  • Design and define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics that align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop comprehensive measurement frameworks for clinical quality, operational efficiency, and financial performance.
  • Create data dictionaries and establish standardized definitions for healthcare metrics.
  • Perform complex data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.

Data Management & Validation


  • Extract, transform, and analyze data from multiple healthcare systems including EHRs, claims databases, and clinical registries.
  • Implement robust data validation processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of reporting outputs.
  • Perform quality assurance testing on data extracts and reconcile discrepancies across source systems.
  • Develop automated data validation rules and exception reporting processes.

Reporting & Visualization


  • Design and develop interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using various BI tools.
  • Create executive-level summary reports and detailed operational reports for different audience levels.
  • Establish reporting schedules and ensure timely delivery of critical business intelligence.
  • Maintain and enhance existing reporting infrastructure to meet evolving business needs

Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in healthcare analytics, reporting, or business intelligence
  • Proven track record working with healthcare data and understanding regulatory requirements

Healthcare Data Expertise


  • Deep understanding of healthcare data types, including claims data, EHR clinical data, and patient outcomes data
  • Experience with HEDIS measures, quality reporting, and performance improvement initiatives
  • Knowledge of healthcare coding systems (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, DRG) and clinical terminologies
  • Familiarity with CMS reporting requirements, quality programs, and value-based care metrics

Technical Skills


  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation
  • Experience with business intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
  • Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, macros, and complex formulas
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis methods and data visualization best practices
  • Experience with healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR) preferred

Analytical & Communication Skills


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present complex data to non-technical audiences
  • Experience translating business requirements into technical specifications
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in related field or relevant professional certifications
  • Experience with population health management and risk adjustment methodologies
  • Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards and data exchange protocols
  • Familiarity with machine learning applications in healthcare analytics
  • Experience with cloud-based analytics platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)

Working Environment


This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams including clinical staff, IT professionals, and executive leadership. The role involves both independent analytical work and collaborative project management, with occasional travel to healthcare facilities for stakeholder meetings and system implementations.
