Cake Decorator

Overview
We are seeking a talented and creative Decorator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and cake decorating, with experience in a bakery environment. As a Decorator, you will be responsible for creating beautiful and delicious cakes, cookies and pastries that meet our customers' specifications while ensuring high standards of food safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Design and decorate cakes, cookies and other pastries for various occasions, including weddings, birthdays, and special events.
• Collaborate with customers to understand their vision and preferences for cake designs.
• Ability to create cake, cookie and pastry designs.
• Prepare cake layers, fillings, and frostings according to recipes and specifications.
• Utilize various decorating techniques, tools, and equipment to create visually appealing designs.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area while adhering to food handling safety standards.
• Assist in food production tasks as needed, including preparing other baked goods or desserts.
• Order necessary supplies and keep a current inventory
• Willingness to assist with baking and customer service tasks, as needed
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and ensuring customer satisfaction with orders.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of decorating experience is required.
• Knowledge of food handling practices and kitchen safety protocols.
• Proficiency with kitchen tools, including knives and decorating equipment.
• Strong attention to detail with an artistic flair for design.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple orders.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for effective, customer interaction.
• A passion for baking and creating delicious desserts that delight customers.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to bend, twist and squat
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Light cleaning duties
• High school or equivalent required
• Having a portfolio of cake, cookie and pastry designs is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
