We are adding to our team! Cake Crumbs is seeking a cake decorator to fill a full time position on our cake decorating team. We are a busy cafe with a high volume custom cake business. The ideal candidate must be willing to work closely with a small team of decorators in a fun and energetic environment. Required: If you have not worked in a bakery that specialized in custom cake designs then please do not apply!
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- frosting and decorating shop cakes and cupcakes
- creating and decorating custom cake orders
- continuous development of decorating skills and maintaining a pulse on trends
- routine cleaning of work space
- participating in regularly scheduled production meetings
Skills expected:
- ability to work with fondant, gum paste and buttercream
- basic artistic and color sense
- strong piping skills
- attention to detail and good organizational skills
- willingness to be a team player
- ability to work in a high volume bakery environment
- ability to work in a small space
- ability to lift at least 50 pounds
A basic understanding of cake decorating is expected and previous food service experience is a plus. We are open 7 days a week so we expect all our staff to have schedule flexibility and be able to work weekends and holidays. This position must have availability to work Thursday through Monday.
