Job Summary
The Supported Housing Case Manager plays a crucial role in assisting individuals and families in securing stable and affordable housing. This position requires a compassionate approach to support clients facing various challenges, including those related to crisis situations, addiction, and housing instability. The Housing Specialist will utilize their knowledge of social work principles and housing regulations to provide effective case management and advocacy.
Duties
- Conduct assessments to determine client needs and eligibility for housing assistance programs.
- Develop individualized housing plans that address client goals and barriers.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to empower clients in their housing journey.
- Negotiate with landlords and property management companies to secure housing placements.
- Provide crisis intervention and management support for clients facing immediate challenges.
- Maintain accurate records using software such as Yardi or OneSite for tracking client progress and housing placements.
- Stay informed about Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) regulations and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with community resources and agencies to connect clients with additional support services, including addiction counseling when necessary.
- Facilitate workshops or informational sessions on tenant rights, responsibilities, and available resources.
Experience
Candidates should possess a background in social work or a related field, with experience in the following areas considered advantageous:
- Crisis management and intervention strategies.
- Knowledge of benefit and housing systems
- Knowledge of LIHTC regulations and affordable housing programs.
- Proficiency in using EHR systems
- Skills in negotiation and advocacy on behalf of clients.
- Familiarity with addiction counseling principles is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
