We are seeking a dedicated and friendly Cashier to join our team at a bustling grocery store. Responsibilities
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process customer transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Handle cash, credit, and other forms of payment while ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly and addressing their inquiries or concerns.
- Assist with product demonstrations to promote sales and enhance customer engagement.
- Upsell products and suggest additional items to customers as appropriate.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including merchandising displays and stocking shelves as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
- Utilize retail math skills to accurately process transactions and manage cash drawer balances.
- Demonstrate effective phone etiquette when answering customer calls or inquiries.
Experience
- Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred but not required.
- Supervising experience is a plus, as it may involve training new staff members.
