Duties and Responsibilities

Installs, configures, maintains, troubleshoots, and administers all networks, servers, systems, and applications.- Ensures that the systems are running securely and backups are completed as scheduled. Must be available off-hours to troubleshoot systems if needed.
- Works with UHM ITS when necessary for scheduling and installation of network and other IT systems as assigned.
- Develops, documents, implements and enhances applications change-management procedures and activities.
- Designs, develops, tests, and documents scripts and routines as needed for enhancing and automating applications monitoring and management.
- Identifies IT needs and defines the projects to meet those needs. Defines and develops the IT environment and/or technical architecture which will be deployed.
- Research acquisition of 3rd party software.
- Provides instructions and training to staff on the use of IT systems.
- Provides hardware and software technical assistance when problems occur on all types of IT equipment in use by staff including, but not limited to, Windows and Mac, tablets, and mobile devices.
- Serves as a source of support services in computer support areas providing computer technical advice to assigned management and personnel.
- Researches training options employees on system and applications acquired.
- Working with ITS and/or respective vendors, supports and troubleshoots security systems that require monitoring throughout the UHM campus.
- Maintains the highest level of integrity and confidentiality in dealing with sensitive data.

Minimum Qualifications
2. Considerable working knowledge of Multi-User System Administration as demonstrated by the broad knowledge and understanding of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving information technology concepts, principles and methodology.
3. Considerable working knowledge and understanding of the broad technology, systems, hardware and software associated with Windows Server systems, Windows Active Directory, Windows Domain Controller, and database management systems.
4. Demonstrated ability to recognize a wide range of intricate problems, use reasoning and logic to determine accurate causes, and apply principles and practices to determine, evaluation, integrate, and implement practical and thorough solutions in an effective and timely manner. Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing, verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials.
5. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals.
6. Ability to travel for purposes of attending meetings, training, and other activities.
7. Ability to work beyond normal hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by special events or emergency situations.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience maintaining and administering Windows 2008 or higher server. Experience maintaining and administering Microsoft SQL 2008 or higher server.
- Working knowledge of monitoring and managing various types of security devices such as CCTV, surveillance security cameras/DVR systems, fire alarms, card key access.
- Experience with Genetec’s security system for monitoring various security devices.
- Working knowledge of firewall configurations and implementation.
- Experience installing and maintaining Windows Domain Controllers and Windows Active Directory.
