****Applicants seeking short-term or part-time work with the University of Hawai’i may apply for Casual Hire positions, which include administrative professional and technical (APT) or Instructional-type positions. Because of the temporary nature of these appointments, Casual Hire employees are not eligible for most benefits as provided to regular BOR and Civil Service employees such as paid leave and holidays. Casual Hire appointments may last for up to 89 days for full-time employees and up to one calendar year for part-time employees.

Description of Duties:
- Under general supervision teach non credit adult learners, including persons with disabilities and workplace injuries in the following areas: Microsoft Office Applications, Basic Computer Skills and Office Administration and Technology.
- Document and archive detailed case notes of academic progress for all instructor coached participants.
- Correspond as the liaison to participant cases managers and referrals.
- Respond to participant inquiries from the community, government departments and private industry.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Microsoft certification in courses to be taught and three years experience in subject matter with demonstrated proficiency or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related area.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current experience, within the past three years teaching adult learners with physical and learning disabilities.
- Experience in teaching visually impaired students using adaptive technologies such as JAWS, Magic, and Talking Typing Teacher.
