*** Applicants seeking short-term or part-time work with the University of Hawai'i may apply for Casual Hire positions, which include administrative, professional, and technical (APT) or instructional-type positions. Because of the temporary nature of these appointments, Casual Hire employees are not eligible for most benefits as provided to regular Board of Regents (BOR) and Civil Service employees (i.e. paid holidays/leave). Casual Hire appointments may last for up to 89 days for full-time employees, and up to 1 calendar year for part-time employees.

Other Conditions: Casual Hire temporary appointment is expected to begin September 2025, or soon thereafter. Not to exceed one year.
Duties:
- Piano accompanist for Performing Arts Department, including Chorus/Voice classes, Convocation, and required Juries or Showcases, for the semester.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Four-year degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
- Advanced pianist with at least 2 years of experience as an accompanist for a class or other performance-based organization.
- Able to sight-read and play sheet music quickly and skillfully, without advance preparation.
- Able to stop & start, sometimes picking up in the middle of a phrase, according to the needs of the instructor or director.
- Must be available for rehearsals and performances with students and faculty.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience working as a piano accompanist in a college environment.
- Experience working with the demands of live staged productions.
