Location: Remote with requirement to travel for business needs
Role Purpose:
Under supervision of the Procurement Director, the Category Manager will manage all aspects of the procurement strategy for their assigned categories. They will analyze forecasts and work with planning teams to contract and secure ingredients and Packaging to meet forecasted raw material needs. The incumbent conducts bid analysis, comparative cost control vendor management, contract negotiations and other strategic sourcing activities under the direction of the Director, Procurement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support Director, Procurement in the development of sourcing strategies which deliver long-term, sustainable, lowest TCO opportunities to Hain Celestial.
- Work with R&D and Marketing to understand business needs and establish priorities within the supplier base to support Hain business needs.
- Address vendor issues to ensure the highest level of service, delivery and facility support.
- Implement category strategies to optimize category strategies and lead sourcing events that mitigate the impact of price volatility and other supply chain risks.
- Work with cross functional planning, marketing, and R&D teams to support delivery/production schedules.
- Support elements of the overall operations strategy to ensure service improvements by negotiating with suppliers and thinking creatively do develop “winning” solutions.
- Utilize category management tools to develop strategic sourcing plans, supplier relationship management, contract negotiations, performance, and risk management assessments across various spend categories including Ingredients, Packaging and Co-Man.
- Perform procurement reporting and analysis of data to identify potential improvement opportunities, including cost, service, and quality.
- Identify innovative procurement solutions, working with PMP team, that provide productivity savings and drives quality and process improvements for the organization.
- Leads supplier performance management through the negotiations of procured materials to assure optimal TCO (Cost, Quality, Delivery, Innovation) with key stakeholders, within and outside Procurement, to support the growing needs of the business.
- Maintain contractual and business relationships with vendors.
- Develop best procurement practices to lead and manage procurement teams.
- Develop and maintain expert knowledge of respective assigned categories through knowledge of global supply markets, competitors, and product innovations.
- Manage & maintain respective category spend in accordance with the annual budget process.
Education and/or Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or other equivalent
- Minimum five years' experience in a Corporate Procurement role in the food industry or related industry role.
Preferred:
- Preferred knowledge of the Consumer Product Goods Industry and Ingredient, Packaging Sourcing/Management.
Competencies and Proficiency Requirements:
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple priorities and strong attention
- Strong business acumen in addition to strong analytical, project management and
- Computer skills including MS Office programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate (verbal/writing) effectively.

- Ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization and across other functional areas.
