- Test Kitchen Setup & Breakdown: Set up the test kitchen for recipe development sessions, including organizing ingredients, tools, and equipment. After testing, clean, sanitize, and break down the kitchen to maintain a safe and organized workspace.
- Assisting with Dishes Creation: Assist the Chef during recipe development by taking notes on techniques, ingredients, and adjustments made to dishes. Be involved in executing tasks under the Chef’s direction, such as cooking, plating, and tasting.
- Inventory Management: Help track inventory levels of ingredients used in the test kitchen, ensuring that the necessary supplies are on hand for recipe development and adjustments. Assist with the ordering process as needed.
- Quality Control: Maintain consistency in the preparation of dishes by following recipes accurately and ensuring food quality meets the Chef’s standards for taste and presentation.
- Kitchen Cleanliness & Organization: Ensure the test kitchen is kept clean and organized at all times, maintaining proper food safety standards and cleanliness throughout the development process.
- Miscellaneous Support: Assist with any other duties related to recipe development and kitchen operations as needed, including organizing samples, preparing tasting portions, or supporting event catering prep when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience in a professional kitchen.
- Culinary Education: Formal culinary training is a plus, but not required. On-the-job experience is valued.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail, especially when following recipes and maintaining documentation of ingredients and techniques.
