Savoury’s Good Earth Cuisine—the exclusive caterer at the Palm Springs Convention Center—has been servicing exceptional culinary experiences for over 30 years. Prestigious events serviced by Savoury’s include the Palm Springs International Film Festival gala and The Steve Chase Awards gala, while the majority of our business consists of multi-day conventions and intimate parties.
Most of our work happens within the hours of 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, but there are early mornings and late nights as well. Convention activity dictates our schedule, so every week is different.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients booking events at the Convention Center, guiding them through food & beverage planning.
- Present a polished, professional appearance that reflects the company’s high standards and creates confidence with clients and city officials.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, city representatives, and key stakeholders, ensuring a professional and responsive experience.
- Collaborate closely with the Executive Chef, kitchen team, and Director of Food & Beverage to align menus with client needs and operational capabilities.
- Prepare proposals, BEOs, and related documents with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Conduct site visits, menu tastings, and client walkthroughs as needed.
- Ensure timely communication between clients, internal departments, and leadership to guarantee seamless execution of events.
- Attend internal meetings with DOS, Senior Sales Manager, and operations teams to review upcoming events and client requirements.
- Support financial accuracy by tracking client selections, special requests, and changes, ensuring billing reflects contracted services.
- Maintain accurate client files and records in Word, Excel, and other company systems.
- Uphold company standards, methods, and policies during client interactions and event planning.
- Participate fully in training and orientation to learn company-specific procedures and protocols.
Experience
- Previous experience in catering sales, event planning, or hospitality services, ideally within a high-volume or convention setting.
- Strong background in client relations, with proven ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with a wide range of clients, including city officials and corporate groups.
- Experience preparing proposals, contracts, or event orders with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working closely with culinary and operations teams to translate client needs into successful events.
- Proficient with standard computer programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience with catering or event management software is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple events and deadlines while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
- Experience in environments where polished, professional presentation and appearance are essential to success.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
