Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and organized Catering and Sales Coordinator to join our restaurant team. This role is responsible for driving catering sales, planning and executing events, and building strong client relationships to ensure a seamless guest experience from initial inquiry to event completion. The ideal candidate is sales-driven, customer-focused, and skilled at multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
As the Catering and Sales Coordinator, you will work closely with both the culinary team and restaurant management to develop customized catering solutions, manage event logistics, and meet revenue goals. Your ability to balance client needs with operational capabilities will be key to ensuring both exceptional service and profitable outcomes.
Catering Responsibilities:
- Coordinate Events:
Plan and execute catering events including weddings, corporate meetings, and private parties.
- Client Communication:
Meet with clients to understand their needs, present menu options, and finalize event details.
- Menu Planning:
Work with the chef/kitchen team to create custom menus based on client preferences, budget, and dietary needs.
- Logistics Management:
Arrange delivery, setup, service staff, rentals (e.g., tables, linens), and breakdown of off-site events.
- Team Coordination:
Supervise catering staff during events to ensure smooth execution and excellent customer service.
- Inventory & Supplies:
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with vendors to ensure necessary supplies are on hand for catering events.
- Compliance:
Ensure food safety, cleanliness, and adherence to health regulations during off-site service.
Sales Responsibilities:
- Prospect New Business:
Identify and pursue new catering leads through cold calls, networking, referrals, and digital platforms.
- Maintain Client Relationships:
Build and sustain long-term relationships with existing clients to encourage repeat business.
- Sales Reporting:
Track leads, bookings, and revenue through CRM or sales software; prepare regular performance reports.
- Contract Management:
Prepare proposals, negotiate pricing, and manage contracts and deposits.
- Marketing Support:
Assist with marketing efforts such as promotional events, social media campaigns, and email marketing to boost catering sales.
- Collaborate with Restaurant Team:
Coordinate with the front-of-house, kitchen, and management team to ensure alignment between in-house dining and catering operations.
- Customer Service:
Handle client concerns or complaints professionally and promptly to maintain customer satisfaction.
Experience
- Previous experience in retail sales or direct sales is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with technical sales processes or technology-related products is a plus.
- Proven ability in territory management and business development strategies.
- Strong understanding of market dynamics and customer needs within the industry.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on building relationships.
- Proficiency in conducting product demos and presenting complex information clearly.
- Experience with software tools related to sales management or CRM systems is preferred.
