Core Responsibilities
-Safely and respectfully aid in the cremation process by:
- Assisting funeral home staff unload at the crematory
- Accurately completing all necessary paperwork
- Operating incinerators in accordance with our safety procedures (training provided)
- Processing and preparing cremated remains for return to the funeral home
- Maintaining detailed records of each cremation
- Maintaining a clean and organized work space
-Serve as point of contact for families with questions or concerns regarding cremation and/or cemetery related business
-Enter cremation records into our computer system
-Assist in maintaining cemetery grounds (cut grass, weed-whack, general cleanup)
Job Requirements
-Excellent verbal communication skills
-Ability to work comfortably around death
-Willing to complete a 6-hour Crematory Operator training course (paid for by employer)
-Good written communication skills
-Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area
-Physically able to spend long periods of time on your feet
-Willing to work outdoors
-Ability to lift 50 pounds
-Must be willing to take a drug test
Desired Skills
-Basic computer literacy
- Able to open and respond to emails
- Able to type a letter if necessary
- Basic familiarity with Windows
-Willingness to learn and operate light machinery, i.e. skid-steer, backhoe, commercial lawn mower, tractor (training provided if necessary - experience preferred)
Education
-High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 per hour
