Job Summary
The Certified Peer Specialist plays a vital role in supporting individuals navigating their mental health and addiction recovery journeys. Utilizing lived experience, the specialist provides guidance, encouragement, and practical assistance to help clients achieve their personal goals. Duties
- Provide one-on-one support to clients, sharing personal recovery experiences to inspire hope and resilience.
- Assist clients in developing coping strategies and life skills essential for managing their mental health or addiction challenges.
- Facilitate group sessions that promote peer support and community building among participants.
- Collaborate with mental health professionals to create individualized treatment plans that align with clients' goals.
- Engage in crisis intervention and management when necessary, ensuring client safety and well-being.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and interactions while adhering to confidentiality standards.
- Educate clients about available resources and systems within the behavioral health framework.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to empower clients in their recovery process.
