Certified Peer Support Specialists (CPSS)
Carolina Community Support is currently seeking compassionate and dedicated Certified Peer Support Specialists (CPSS) who are established in their own Mental Health or Substance Abuse recovery to provide recovery-based support to clients in the WAKE, DURHAM, and ORANGE County area. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals navigating their recovery journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide peer support based on personal recovery experience.
- Offer self-help strategies to clients to empower them on their recovery path.
- Assist with referrals for housing resources and social services.
- Build and strengthen social skills for clients, helping them engage with their communities.
- Support clients in their journey toward independence and successful community participation.
Qualifications:
- North Carolina Peer Support Certification (NC CPSS) is required prior to hire.
- A minimum of 2 years of personal recovery in Mental Health or Substance Abuse.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Reliable Personal Vehicle
- Smartphone.
