Certified Trainer - NoHo

THE ROLE: CERTIFIED TRAINER (New York, NoHo)

Certified Trainers serve as mentors and trainers to new and existing retail team members, helping model our core values and ensuring they understand Levain's practices and processes for customer service, drink-making, and operations. In addition, Certified Trainers work with bakery management to ensure overall quality and consistency, noting when processes aren't being followed or team members may benefit from a training refresher. Certified Trainers represent Levain to new employees, acting as their advocate, answering or directing all inquiries around company policies, protocols, and practices. Certified Trainers are versed in cash counting and reconciliation as well as opening and closing the bakeries, taking on these responsibilities on an as needed basis. The ideal candidate will enjoy mentoring others and have a passion for hospitality.

What you'll do:

• Work with bakery management, including our Director of Training, to onboard and train team members in Levain's policies and practices.
• Evaluate team members and ensure they are hitting skill development
• Ensures successful training for new team members
• Adjust coaching and communication style to best support each individual you are training; we're lucky to have a diversity of backgrounds, experiences, and personalities at Levain and we aim to take that into consideration when training and onboarding!
• Observe day-to-day bakery operations and help maintain quality
• Warmly greet and serve customers, maintain extensive product knowledge (including allergen information), and assist with inventory and delivery fulfillment.
• Work efficiently and accurately while ensuring all Department of Health food and safety standards are met.
• Fill in as needed across the bakery; we're all working towards one goal, and it's not uncommon for Certified Trainers to help bake or clean dishes.
• Assist bakery management in occasional management or supervisory tasks: cash handling, inventory counts for commissary, and covering an opening or closing shift of bakery.
• Abilities
  • Lift/push up to 50 pounds, including overhead
  • Walk/stand on your feet for an 8-hour shift (excluding½ hour break); walk up and down stairs in select locations
  • Read and communicate in English, including on the phone and in writing
  • Utilize basic computer skills (Email, Microsoft Word)

• Prior retail or customer service experience
• Food Protection License

Compensation:

• $19 - $21.25/hour
• 10% bonus
• Tips eligible
