Chief of Staff, Dean’s Office, Graduate School of Education
The Chief of Staff manages division-wide planning and execution in order to support the Dean’s capacity
to lead. The Chief of Staff will provide project management, organizational, and administrative support to
implement the Dean’s strategic vision and priorities across the graduate school. The Chief of Staff will
also support scheduling, meeting facilitation, and event planning. The Chief of Staff will report to the Dean
and work closely with the Associate Deans and Director of Finance, Operations, and Analytics to support
the effective and efficient operations of the graduate school.
Executive Support to the Dean
- Manage the Dean’s calendar, including scheduling meetings and coordinating logistics
- Coordinate across Dean’s direct reports to schedule leadership meetings
- Prepare agendas and materials for the Dean, ensuring the Dean is prepared for meetings and
- Draft communications on behalf of Dean as needed; support the Marketing and Communications
- Perform administrative tasks to assist Dean
- Handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times
- Support and track the effective execution of strategic initiatives by providing project management
- Support the Dean’s leadership of the accreditation process by creating systems and structures to
- Support the Dean’s leadership of the Institutional Review Board by tracking requests, convening
- Conduct research and gather data to support decision-making
- Lead the planning of special events as needed
- Support the day-to-day operations of the Graduate School, including facilities and space
Meeting Planning and Facilitation
- Set and manage regular leadership meeting agendas to ensure strategic priorities remain at the
- Manage agenda and logistics for monthly GSE division meeting and other division-wide and
- Support meeting facilitation as needed
- Foster collaboration and coordination across Dean’s direct reports, senior leadership, and across
- Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Serve as a main point of contact in the Dean’s Office to faculty and staff
- Support culture-building initiatives
- Liaise with other Bank Street divisions and offices
Salary range: $85,000 - $95,000 annually
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of professional experience supporting operations and/or project management work in a
leadership team
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, including experience planning and
- Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to work effectively as
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience managing and addressing the interests of multiple
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both virtual and in-person settings
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and follow-through in an environment with multiple, shifting, and competing
- Problem resolution and organizational skills including ability to manage multiple projects, navigate
- Demonstrated ability to design organizational processes, structures, and systems
- Excellent time management skills for self and others, including ensuring that schedule/calendar
- Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
