Key Responsibilities:
- Morning Supervision:
- Monitor and supervise students dropped off before school at 7:30 AM.
- Classroom Support:
- Assist children with classroom projects, daily assignments, and routines.
- Help students transition smoothly from home to the school environment each day.
- Serve as an extra set of eyes during student tests and provide assistance with make-up work.
- Help students with proper hygiene and bathroom routines, providing assistance when necessary.
- Support the teacher in preparing classroom materials and lesson-related tasks.
- File progress reports, make copies, and complete other administrative classroom tasks.
- Assist with classroom clean-up at the end of class.
- Student Supervision & Safety:
- Monitor student behavior and intervene appropriately to promote a positive and respectful classroom climate.
- Supervise and assist students during recess, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.
- Monitor bathroom activity to ensure safety and proper conduct.
- Work collaboratively with the classroom teacher in directing and assigning tasks to parent and community volunteers.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with children in a school or child care setting is desirable.
- Patience, flexibility, and a nurturing demeanor.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with staff and students.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold school policies.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to supervise children both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Requires standing, walking, bending, and some lifting (up to 25 pounds).
- Ability to respond quickly to student needs and emergencies.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
