Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic afternoon Classroom Floater to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be flexible and adaptable, providing support across various classrooms as needed. This role is essential in ensuring a nurturing and productive learning environment for all students, particularly those with diverse learning needs. The Classroom Floater will assist teachers in implementing lesson plans, managing classroom activities, and supporting students' individual learning goals.
Duties
- Support classroom teachers by assisting with lesson planning and implementation of educational activities.
- Provide individualized support to students, including those with special needs or disabilities.
- Foster a positive learning environment through effective classroom management techniques.
- Engage in literacy and math education activities to enhance student understanding and skills.
- Assist in the development of curriculum materials tailored to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Monitor student behavior and implement behavior management strategies as needed.
- Collaborate with teachers to assess student progress and adapt instructional strategies accordingly.
- Maintain open communication with teachers, parents, and other staff members regarding student development and classroom activities.
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, and other non-instructional periods to ensure safety and engagement.
Requirements
- Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is essential.
- Background in early childhood education or childhood development is preferred.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to manage a classroom environment while promoting positive behavior among students.
- Experience in lesson planning, curriculum development, and classroom management techniques is highly desirable.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $9.50 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
