Job Summary
The BSA/AML Team safeguards the Bank from the threat of financial crimes including, but not limited to, terrorist financing, money laundering, and other illicit activity through transaction monitoring and reporting of suspicious activity. The Clerk of Records is responsible for all subpoena processing for the company. The Clerk of Records acts as the company’s primary point of contact with law enforcement, court personnel and other related parties whom issue subpoenas to the company. The Clerk of Records acts as a clearing house for subpoena matters which also require escalation for additional investigation.

Essential Job Functions
Compliance: Promotes a risk-aware culture, ensures efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes. Maintains a high level of confidentiality around subpoenas and other information requests received from law enforcement, court personnel or attorneys. Requires proficient Excel skills including, but not limited to, sorting and data manipulation. Responsible for tracking and managing incoming subpoenas and law enforcement information requests, preparing case files, reviewing documents for responsiveness with a high level of accuracy. Refers and escalates urgent and/or criminal matters for further review and investigation. Monitors and completes daily follow-up reviews to ensure timeliness of responses and deadlines are not breached. Updates Management on status and any identified issues related to response deadlines. Assists with updating relevant policies and procedures as necessary.
Communication: Builds relationships by establishing trust, confidence and credibility with internal and external partners. The Clerk of Records will interact with peers, all levels of management, and other internal and external constituents, including law enforcement, court personnel and attorneys regarding subpoena and BSA AML risk matters. Demonstrates outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Utilizes critical thinking skills to help analyze business issues, collaborates with stakeholders to resolve problems, and gains consensus in order to present the best solution. Compilation of documentation and records, ensuring timely communication, and verifying subpoena responses and records are completed timely and accurately. Drafts and updates any associated desktop procedures. Assists with compliance related ad-hoc projects. Maintains adherence to policies and procedures with strict adherence to internal SLAs and regulatory deadlines. Demonstrates the ability to work independently, remain organized, and prioritize work in order to work on multiple projects over the same time period with accuracy and attention to detail. Assists with notetaking in meetings and organizes and prepares agendas and materials.

Minimum Qualifications:
Degree Required: High school diploma or equivalent education
Area of Study
Years of Work Experience Required: 1 or more

Notary, required within 30 days of hire

Typical Pay Range:
$22.85 - $41.40
Full Pay Range for position:
Washington:$24.00 - $47.75
The actual base pay within this range may be dependent upon many factors, which may include, but are not limited to, work location, education, experience, and skills.

insurance, supplemental medical plans, and short and long-term disability) to eligible associates (regular full-time associates scheduled to work 30 hours per week or more) and their spouses/domestic partners, and child(ren) under the age of 26. New associate elected coverage begins on date of hire (with the exception of disability coverage which has a 6-month waiting period). Six weeks of 100% paid parental leave for eligible parents is available after a 180-day waiting period. Hired associates, both full time and part time, can immediately enroll in Bread Financial’s 401(k) plan.
All associates receive 11 paid holidays. Full-time hourly associates receive two grants of Paid Time Off (“PTO”) in January and July based on their service date and scheduled hours, whereas newly hired full time hourly associates in their first year of employment receive a prorated PTO grant on their 61st day of employment based on the month of hire and scheduled hours. Associates will receive a payout of any unused PTO, up to 40 hours, paid out in the next calendar year. Hourly associates receive 72 hours of Paid Sick Leave per calendar year and pro-rated in the associate’s first year of employment.
Hired associates will be able to elect to purchase company stock during offering periods in June and December.
