The Clinical Care Technician is a caregiver who assists patients with activities of daily living and provides nursing care to acutely ill patients underthe supervision of the registered professional nurse,

Performs EKGs and phlebotomy draws on patients as required,

Section III: Job Qualifications/Education/Training/Certification/Licensure

High School diploma or equivalent required,

At least one year experience as Nursing Assistant or successful completion of a Nursing Assistant program or successful completion of CommunityMedical Center PCT Training Program,

Maintains required BLS Heart Saver/Health Care Provider certification

Work Environment and Hazards

Hazards include risk of exposure to communicable disease and risk of physical injury from lifting patients and operation of equipment,

Assists with special procedures including insertion of A-line, central line, chest tubes and wound care,

Supports Admissions/Discharges/Transfer of patients ensuring appropriate documentation and transfer of patient belongings asneeded,

Provides assistance with hygiene activities for patients including bathing, dressing, and other routine care,

Maintains patient well-being to avoid pressure ulcers by repositioning every two hours and using appropriate precautions with linens and otherprotective supplies,

Ensures safe line/tube placement at all times including repositioning, turning ambulating and bathing of patients,

Appropriately applies SCD and TED stockings to patient s lower extremities,

Ensure patient safety at all times including by identifying patients using the 2 patient identifier technique, timely response to call bellsand escalation of safety concerns with appropriate use o
