Position Summary:

The Club Manager is responsible for the proper management of all aspects of the Club’s day to day operations to ensure maximum membership satisfaction including but not limited to: direct member relations, guest services including concierge desk(s), local and airport transportation execution, as well as supporting the housekeeping, engineering and food and beverage operations related to the Club. The position is also responsible for financial budgeting, forecasting, reporting (operational and capital), maintaining and improving of the physical building as needed, as well as assisting with reporting to Board of Directors meetings and marketing of club memberships.

The Club Manager shall devote his/her full-time employment and abilities exclusively to the operations of the Club and its facilities within the framework of the general policies under SELMC and the Club Board of Directors.

The Club Manager reports to the V.P. of Hotel Operations and will also interact with Chief Administration Officer and Club Board Members on Quarterly basis and at Annual Meetings.

Essential Functions:

  • Friendly personality and ability to nurture positive relationships with club members, guests and team members.
  • Provide the overall administration of the Club pursuant to the policies adopted by SELMC and the Club Board of Directors and within the general provisions of the By-Laws, house rules, etc.
  • Communicate with members, committees, the Board of Directors and the Club team members as necessary to accomplish the goals and objectives of the Club.
  • Although the Club Manager may have support from other corporate directors (Housekeeping, Engineering, Security etc), the Club Manager shall remain responsible for the overall operations of the Club.
  • Coordinate the various activities of the Club and achieve the-appropriate cooperation and coordination of the various operations and departments of the Club.
  • Attend weekly Club Socials and forge lasting relationships with Members
  • The Club Manager shall use sound fiscal methods in order to achieve the budget objective approved by the Board of Directors in the annual operating budget. The Club Manager shall prepare the annual budget (operating and reserves) in conjunction with appropriate managers.
  • Attend meetings of the Board of Directors and the various committees with respect to which he/she shall be assigned. The Club Manager shall arrange for proper minutes to be maintained for meetings of the Board of Directors, standing committees and ad hoc committees as appropriate.
  • Adhere to company standards, ensure all departments properly follow all standards and procedures
  • Assist in attainment or surpassing of all departmental and club goals by implementing and coordinating company goals and action plans
  • Maximize customer service and guest satisfaction
  • Minimize employee turnover through proper training, incentivizing and motivation of employees
  • Maintain highest guest satisfaction by ensuring all departments conform to standards
  • Manage budgeted expenditures and labor according to regular occupancy forecasts and variations
  • Proactively analyze revenue and expenses in order to make timely recommendations regarding expenditures and staffing levels
  • Coordinate HOA activities and expenditures achieving positive operational and financial results in cooperation with other managers.
  • Protect the reputation and good name of the company by maintaining the highest level of professionalism and integrity.
  • Participate in monthly analysis of club financial statements

  • Supervise the selection, orientation, and training process of all departmental team members.
  • Oversee the performance evaluation process of all team members.
  • Attend and contribute to Operational meetings and other meetings as required.
  • Complete incident reports in detail as necessary in conjunction with Loss Prevention
  • Approve all expenditures in accordance with company policy and guidelines.
  • Handle all guest complaints properly and timely with proper follow-up

Education, Experience, and Skills Required:

  • A Hospitality, Business Management or related BA/BS degree is strongly preferred.
  • The Club Manager should be versed in all facets of club / luxury hotel administration.
  • A minimum of three to five years as a Club Manager or equivalent luxury hotel or club management experience.
