Job Description: This is an entry-level position. The candidate will be at the company to learn and be trained as a Machinist. Potential skills and knowledge you will acquire include:
- General understanding of machine tool operation
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Quality Systems and Inspection
- Computer Aided Manufacturing and CNC Machining
- CNC Programming
- Set-up and operation of manual milling machines and lathes
- Knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts and other accessories used on various machine tools
- Use of standard inspection tools such as Micrometers, Calipers, Height Gauges, Threaded Plug gages, V-Blocks, Optical Comparators
- Working knowledge in the use of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing based upon ANSI Y14.5M practices
- Experience working in a high precision aerospace manufacturing environment
Education: High school Diploma or GED
Job Requirements:
- Mechanical aptitude and the interest and ability to work with your hands and industrial equipment. Previous automotive or woodworking experience is desirable
- Ability to solve problems using logical reasoning
- Appropriate mathematical skills
- The ability to convey ideas verbally and in writing
- Maintain an organized, safe environment
- Be punctual and reliable
Language, Communication and Comprehension Skills:
- Reading, writing and communicating in English
- Reading and understanding of work instructions

- Reports to the Machine Shop Manager
- No direct reports
