We are a large personal injury law firm looking for a dedicated and highly communicative Legal Assistant to join our close-knit Co-Counsel Relations team.
The ideal candidate will be a people-person who can remain composed under pressure, thrives on solving problems, and brings empathy to every interaction—especially when speaking with clients who are in pain or distress.
This role requires strong organizational skills, initiative, and the ability to handle a high volume of phone calls and client interactions, as well as interactions with other attorneys.

Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients who are working with our co-counsel firms
- Provide thorough and meaningful explanations to potential clients who did not meet our criteria for representation
- Manage a high volume of incoming and outgoing phone calls with professionalism, compassion, and clarity
- Communicate professionally via email and phone with outside attorneys and legal professionals regarding our shared clients
- Perform additional administrative and support duties as needed for one attorney and three additional team members
- Be willing to learn new things and have a desire for growth and advancement
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in personal injury or another legal setting preferred, not required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills—especially over the phone
- Ability to stay calm and professional when speaking with distressed or upset individuals
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently as well as within a small, collaborative team
- Excellent time management and organizational skills; ability to handle multiple tasks at once
- High level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive client information
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- This position is located in our Durham office, Monday - Friday. Hybrid only considered (after a probation period)
