**Overview:**
J Curtis & Associates office is growing and seeking a motivated Commercial Lines Agent/Producer to join our team.
Agent/Producer is responsible for generating new business including Hotels/Motels, Resorts, Restaurants, Entertainment Venues, Commercial Property Retail Industries, etc. This role includes ongoing levels of training so that the agent will obtain a comprehensive understanding of the unique insurance needs of the hospitality industry. The Agent/Producer will actively prospect new clients using in-house marketing assistance, then providing our most competitive offers, and assist in providing exceptional customer service to maintain long and trustful relationships with our clients.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
- Appointment Setting: Identify and pursue potential clients through our in-house client x-date list, including updating and setting up an initial appointment for obtaining required data for underwriting review.
- Coverage Assessment: Revise the risk including physical appearance of risk, analyze current coverage and determine coverage adequacy, obtain loss information, building construction, updates etc. to properly submit to insurance carriers.
- Marketing Account: Working directly with in-house agency marketing management to determine the best fit carriers to provide the finest option for the insured.
- Proposal Review: Working directly with marketing staff to provide a commercial professional proposal to enable a high percentage of closings.
- Sales and Closing: Work directly with Agency management to become extremely efficient in closing accounts through training, broad client opportunity and very high closing ration
- Account Management: We believe our account managers provide significant support so you can use your time on sales
- Relationship Building: Build and maintain strop relationships with clients, insurance carriers, and other industry professionals
- Claims Assistance: Assist clients with the claims process, including forwarding the claims and necessary documentation to the account manager
- Market Knowledge: Stay up to date on industry trends, insurance products, and regulatory changes
- Compliance: Adhere to all applicable insurance regulations and company policies.
**Qualifications:**
- Strong customer service and sales skills
- Sales experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills to interact with diverse audiences
- Experience developing leads
- 2-20 Florida P&C License; schooling provided if necessary
- Valid Driver's License: this position does require routine or periodic travel using their own vehicle.
