Position Summary
Camden Hills Regional High School is seeking a skilled teacher with a background in computer science who is committed to student success, to collaboration, and seeks to continuously improve their practice to meet student needs. A successful candidate will be an expert with technology and have experience working in the field or teaching programming, computer science, or information systems. Experience with robotics is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging lessons on topics such as Robotics, Introduction to Computer Programming, Computer Science Principles, AP Computer Science, and Personal Finance
- Contribute to a project-based learning environment.
- Manage classroom dynamics, ensuring a productive and respectful learning environment.
- Evaluate student progress and adapt instruction to meet student needs.
- Effectively communicate with students, peers, parents, and administrators.
Qualifications/Skills
- Knowledge of the diverse ways in which students learn and develop
- Ability to adapt lesson plans based on student needs within different learning groups
- Ability to engage with students, home, school, colleagues, and the community to support student learning and wellbeing
- Desire for ongoing professional development and improvement
Requirements
- Background check, including fingerprinting
- Maine Teaching Certification with an endorsement in Computer Technology (680) required (or show evidence of Maine Certification eligibility)
Pay and Benefits
- Pay starts at $51,151 per year with possibility of increase based on experience, within the parameters of the applicable contract
