Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Concrete Paver Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating wide paving equipment including Guntert & Zimmerman and Gomaco pavers, with a strong understanding of concrete paving techniques and safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maneuver concrete pavers, including Guntert & Zimmerman and Gomaco slipform pavers, for highway, airport, and large-scale paving projects.
- Set up and adjust equipment for wide paving operations, ensuring proper alignment, grade, and depth.
- Collaborate with ground crew to confirm deck path and make real-time adjustments.
- Monitor and control the distribution of concrete to ensure a smooth, even surface.
- Adjust vibrators and strike-off plates based on field conditions and concrete properties.
- Perform daily pre- and post-operational checks and routine maintenance.
- Maintain cleanliness and functionality of equipment.
- Adhere to all safety practices, procedures, and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure efficient and high-quality paving operations.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience operating concrete pavers, preferably in road and airfield construction.
- Proficiency with Guntert & Zimmerman and Gomaco pavers and wide paving techniques.
- Knowledge of GPS systems, stringless paving, and slope management is a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in construction or heavy equipment operation preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 100 per week
