Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Concrete Setter/Finisher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting forms, placing, finishing, and curing concrete on various projects, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.
- Set and align forms for concrete slabs, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, foundations, and other structures.
- Mix, pour, and spread concrete using hand tools and power equipment.
- Level, smooth, and finish freshly poured concrete surfaces using screeds, trowels, floats, and other finishing tools.
- Apply curing compounds and surface treatments as required.
- Monitor the setting of the concrete to ensure a high-quality finish.
- Repair imperfections and remove rough or defective spots after the concrete has set.
- Follow safety guidelines and wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Clean and maintain tools and work area.
- Work as part of a team to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of concrete setting or finishing experience.
- Strong knowledge of concrete properties, setting techniques, and finishing tools.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if required by the job site).
Work Conditions:
- Outdoor construction environments.
- May require standing, bending, lifting (50+ lbs), and working in confined spaces.
- Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required depending on project timelines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $28.00 per hour
