We specialize in high-quality residential construction including new home builds, additions, finished basements, decks/porches/cabanas and kitchen & bathroom remodels. Job Summary:
The Estimator will be responsible for developing accurate, competitive estimates for residential construction projects. You will play a key role in our preconstruction process, ensuring our proposals are thorough, well-documented, and aligned with project goals and budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review architectural drawings, project plans, and specifications for residential projects.
- Prepare detailed and organized cost estimates for all phases of construction, including materials, labor, and subcontractor work.
- Conduct site visits and consult with clients when necessary to understand project scope and site-specific challenges.
- Solicit and analyze bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
- Maintain and update cost databases based on material, labor, and market trends.
- Assist with the preparation of formal bid proposals and client presentations.
- Work closely with project managers and the owner to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to execution.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an estimator in residential construction.
- Proficiency in estimating software Xactimate and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of residential construction practices, building codes and materials.
- Familiarity with Connecticut residential building codes and local permitting processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and scopes of work.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication skills for working with team members, vendors, and clients.
