We are currently seeking a construction laborer to join our team. As a construction laborer, you will work alongside experienced carpenters and construction professionals to assist in the construction, repair, and maintenance of decks and outdoor structures. The ideal candidate is physically fit, possesses a strong work ethic, and has a willingness to learn and grow in the field of deck construction. This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation for construction of decks and outdoor structures.
- Carry and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment to and from the work site.
- Prepare work areas by removing existing structures, clearing debris, and setting up necessary equipment.
- Assist in the installation of concrete piers, gravel, and other materials.
- Measure and cut materials according to specifications, ensuring accuracy and proper fit.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively, following instructions and guidelines.
- Clean and maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Assist in the preparation of work surfaces, including sanding, staining, and sealing.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to minimize risks and maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with the construction team to complete projects within specified timeframes.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers, reporting any issues or concerns.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in construction or related fields is preferred.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform strenuous tasks, such as lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions from experienced construction professionals.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools, with a willingness to learn and improve skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work with precision and accuracy.
- Strong work ethic and reliability, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow directions effectively.
- Basic understanding of construction safety protocols and the importance of maintaining a safe work environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work on different projects and tasks as needed.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required.
