Under direction of the Assistant Chief Psychologist of CONREP, the Consulting Psychologist is responsible for monitoring and guiding program effectiveness research, as well as training and consultation to CONREP providers regarding violence risk assessment issues. The incumbent will also serve as a member of the Independent Placement Panel (IPP) team, providing forensic community placement evaluations pursuant to PC 1604 for DSH and CONREP patients pursuant to PC 1026, PC 2972, and WIC 6316.

Working Conditions

  • The majority of the essential functions of this position may be performed via telework and/or flexible scheduling in accordance with DSH PD 5338. Although the ability may be granted, incumbent must be available to report to in-person mandated trainings and essential meetings.
  • This position reports to Sacramento but may be physically located anywhere within California.
  • Travel at 15% must be included.
  • Some statewide travel may be required.

DSH-Sacramento has moved into a modern, sustainable and innovative office building located at 1215 “O” Street, Sacramento, California. Some of the amenities of the building include the following:

  • First-floor retail space (separate access from 12th Street)
  • Café with multiple vendors available to the public
  • Outdoor seating with pedestrian walkways
  • Large, shared conference room on the first floor with a maximum capacity of 162 individuals
