Position Purpose:

Responsible for managing the Controlling function and leading a team of controllers, ensuring high-quality management information and actively supporting the CFO, Management Board/Executive Committee and functional managers in business decision-making. The role covers financial, manufacturing and commercial controlling as well as planning, forecasting and management reporting.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Controlling team, set priorities and ensure high quality and timely delivery of controlling activities.
  • Coordinate budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes and monitor achievement of financial and operational targets.
  • Analyze financial performance, including Actual vs. Target/Budget vs. Forecast vs. Previous Year, identify key variances, risks and opportunities, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Manage manufacturing controlling, including analysis of production costs, standard vs. actual costs, productivity, capacity utilization and manufacturing variances.
  • Analyze sales, margins and profitability by product, customer and sales channel, including price-volume-mix analysis.
  • Oversee management reporting and KPI monitoring and prepare analyses and recommendations supporting the CFO and Management Board/Executive Committee.
  • Perform financial evaluation of CAPEX, investment projects and business cases, including ROI, NPV and payback analysis.
  • Act as a Finance Business Partner for Production, Sales, Supply Chain, Procurement and other business functions.
  • Drive standardization, digitalization and continuous improvement of controlling and reporting processes, including the effective use of SAP, Power BI and Excel.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve profitability, cost efficiency and operational performance.

Professional competencies:

  • University degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Several years of professional experience in Controlling, FP&A or Business Finance, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing controlling, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting and financial performance analysis.
  • Previous experience in leading or coordinating a team.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP; Power BI experience is an advantage.
  • Very good command of English, both written and spoken.
