General Description:
Responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing electrical control panels and components according to engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications. This role requires technical skills in electrical systems, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Essential Functions:
- Builds and accurately wires electrical control panels according to the electrical schematics.
- Marks-up (redline) electrical schematics using standard symbology in the event of minor changes, e.g. wire numbers, cables, connectors.
- Works with Electrical designers for solutions to wiring issues, such as cable routing, and component placement for best wiring practices.
- Troubleshoot wiring issues during de-bug of the projects.
- Understands, performs, and documents electrical pre-checks with guidance from mentor.
- Uses tools like measuring tapes, angle finders, and material gauges to verify dimensions.
- Assembles different components by following written instructions and or drawings.
- Selects and kits fasteners and other materials needed for assembly.
- Drills and punches holes in metal, for screws, bolts, rivets, or finished parts.
- Collaborates on any repairs necessary for damaged parts.
- Fabricates or alters parts using shears, hammers, punches, and drills.
- Uses hand tools and portable power tools to trim, file, grind, deburr, buff, and smooth surfaces, seams, and joints of metal parts.
- Marks parts for identification.
- Inspects parts to ensure conformance to specifications and quality standards.
- Inspects machinery and reports damaged or faulty equipment for repairs or replacement.
- Loads and unloads items from machines, carts, and dollies.
- Works at heights of above 4ft with proper fall protection equipment.
- Performs required tasks while on a step ladder, ladder, rolling ladder, or scissor lift.
- Operates forklifts to move material.
- Assists forklift operators.
- Operates cranes, jib boom cranes, and other rigging equipment.
- Reports jobs status into workflow management software.
- Records data as needed.
- Cleans and organizes production area to maintain orderly working and storage area and to maintain work areas safe.
- Sweeps, mops, and removes debris.
- Executes tasks with a great adherence to safety protocols, caution, and care, ensuring a secure work environment for oneself and others in the workplace.

Education:
High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience:
Two years of control panels building experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Good knowledge of industry accepted codes, wiring practices and components typically used in industrial machinery (NFPA 70 and NFPA 79).
- Good understanding of UL508A Standards, European electrical standards, and CE marking requirements.
- Read, interpret, and work from North American and European format electrical schematics that are typically used in industrial machinery.
- Ability to work with different individuals as a team.
- Ability to cycle count inventory with accuracy.
- Maintains a high level of awareness and safety in the workplace.
