Expanse Electrical is a fast-growing, non-union electrical and power contractor delivering large-scale infrastructure projects across multiple states. We perform both lump-sum and negotiated work for project owners and general contractors. Our projects demand strong contractual frameworks and proactive legal support to protect the company’s interests while enabling growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contract Review & Negotiation
- Draft, review, and negotiate master service agreements (MSAs), subcontract agreements, and owner contracts.
- Advise leadership on contract terms, risk allocation, and negotiation strategies.
- Claims & Disputes
- Develop, prepare, and manage claims related to scope changes, delays, or disputes.
- Provide legal strategy for dispute resolution, settlement, mediation, arbitration, or litigation support.
- Lien Rights & Collections
- File, manage, and enforce mechanic’s liens to secure payment rights across multiple jurisdictions.
- Support finance and operations teams in collections matters.
- Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure company operations comply with state, federal, and industry regulations.
- Provide proactive legal guidance to mitigate risks on ongoing projects.
- Develop internal templates, policies, and best practices for contracts and claims management.
Qualifications:
- D. degree from an accredited law school; licensed and in good standing in at least one U.S. state (Texas preferred, multi-state experience highly valued).
- 5–10 years of relevant experience, ideally with a focus in construction law, power/infrastructure projects, or commercial contracting.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, construction claims, and lien laws in multiple states.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Business-minded approach with the ability to balance risk with operational goals.
- Experience supporting mid-to-large construction contractors preferred.
