Job Overview
As a Correctional Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining safety and security within the correctional facility. Your primary responsibility will be to supervise inmates, enforce rules and regulations, and ensure the overall safety of both staff and inmates. Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate behavior and enforce facility rules to maintain order and security.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility to ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Respond to emergencies and incidents, utilizing conflict management techniques as necessary.
- Prepare detailed reports on inmate activities, incidents, and any violations of facility policies.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and other security personnel as needed.
- Provide first aid and CPR in emergency situations to ensure the health and safety of inmates.
- Operate CCTV systems to monitor inmate movements and activities throughout the facility.
Skills
- Proficient in conflict management techniques to de-escalate potentially volatile situations.
- Knowledge of law enforcement practices and procedures relevant to correctional facilities.
- Experience in report writing for accurate documentation of incidents and observations.
- Familiarity with security protocols and practices within correctional environments.
- Ability to perform first aid and CPR effectively when required.
- Military experience is a plus, providing additional skills in discipline and security operations. Pay: $22.26 - $25.88 per hour
