Regions is seeking a Genetic Counselor individual with strong communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within our Pathology Lab.
This position plays an integral role in enabling patients to make informed healthcare decisions based on complex genetic information and contributes directly to the mission, vision, and values of the HealthPartners organization. May also provide technical and utilization support related to genetics/genetic testing.
This position:
- Provides comprehensive genetic counseling services for individuals and families with known or suspected inherited conditions.
- Key responsibilities include patient risk assessment, education on genetic conditions, coordination of genetic testing and interpretation of results, and psychosocial support for individuals and families.
Work Schedule:
TE: .7 (28 hrs. weekly), Day Shifts
Required Qualifications:
Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
- Graduate from an accredited master’s level genetic counseling program.
Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
- Board-certified/eligible by the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) or American Board of Medical Genetics (ABMG). Board certification and licensure is required within 18 months of employment.
- Licensed/eligible for licensure as a Genetic Counselor by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice (MBMP)
Preferred Qualifications:
Two or more years of experience in genetic counseling preferred
