Overview
The Craft Training Manager is responsible for overseeing all craft training programs across the organization’s job sites, ensuring skilled workforce development aligned with project demands and safety standards. This position manages a team of on-site trainers, collaborates with field supervision and project leadership, and ensures that craft employees receive high-quality, job-relevant training. The ideal candidate has strong leadership, communication, and planning skills, along with a deep understanding of craft trades and adult learning principles.
Responsibilities
- Training Program Oversight:
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve craft training programs for field employees.
- Ensure training content aligns with industry standards, company procedures, and safety requirements.
- Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness using performance data, feedback, and field observations.
- Team Management:
- Lead and manage a team of on-site craft trainers.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and professional development to training staff.
- Coordinate trainer assignments across job sites based on workforce needs and project schedules.
- Collaboration & Coordination:
- Work closely with site supervision, project managers, and safety teams to schedule and align training with operational goals.
- Participate in workforce planning meetings to identify skill gaps and training opportunities.
- Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure all training activities meet company policies, OSHA, and other applicable regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate training records, certifications, and reports using the company’s Learning Management System (LMS) or training databases.
- Manage, maintain and be an expert in Nox Group’s Versatility Matrix.
- Program Development:
- Support the development and delivery of new training materials, including hands-on labs, assessments, and digital resources.
- Integrate technology and innovative training methods to improve learning outcomes.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a skilled craft trade with at least 2 years in a training or supervisory role.
- Proven experience managing training programs and staff in a construction or industrial environment.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Strong working knowledge of safety regulations, craft standards, and jobsite operations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- NCCER certification or OSHA Trainer certification is a plus.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but now required.
- Ability to travel to job sites both locally and in the states Nox Group operates on a routine basis.
