Purpose:
Join our Credit Operations team as a Credit Analyst, where you'll play a vital role in supporting the underwriting process for Ag/Commercial loans. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with experience in credit or banking who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to grow their knowledge of loan products and services.
Primary Job Duties:
- Credit Analysis: Prepare customer data and complete credit analysis with varying levels of complexity from start to finish, including recommendations for approval or denial.
- Process Ownership: Manage assigned credit applications from intake to decision, ensuring timely tracking and communication.
- Ag/Commercial Loan Support: Perform essential tasks such as UCC searches, ordering title work, appraisals, and obtaining RMA data.
- Loan Tracking & Turnaround: Maintain up-to-date logs for loan status and ensure reports and credit reviews meet defined turnaround times.
- Technical Exceptions & Insurance Tracking: Monitor technical exceptions and track assigned insurance such as crop or life insurance on active loans.
- CRM & Communication: Keep internal CRM records current to reflect progress and key milestones in the underwriting process.
- Upselling Opportunities: Identify potential cross-sell or upsell opportunities during the credit review process.
- Indirect Loan Support: Serve as a backup for processing Indirect Loan requests, including data entry, scanning, and denial processing.
- Quality Control: Participate in verification procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Team Support & Collaboration: Assist team members, attend required training sessions, and contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
- Confidentiality & Compliance: Protect customer data and follow all applicable regulations and bank procedures.
- Reporting & Initiative: Proactively submit reports and track personal goal progress consistently.
- Working Knowledge & Continuous Learning: Maintain strong understanding of loan products and continuously seek to build expertise, including preparation to serve as a backup to direct supervisor.
- Bachelors Degree, preferred
- 3–5 years of experience in credit operations or underwriting, required.
- Strong understanding of credit workflows, including Ag/Commercial and Indirect loan support.
- Ability to read and interpret financial documents such as tax returns, balance sheets, and income statements.
- Experience utilizing underwriting software.
- Proficiency with loan origination systems, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- High degree of professionalism, confidentiality, and initiative.
Shifts:
Shifts for this position are determined by department management and may vary within the following hours:
Monday – Friday: 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Occasional meetings or events may fall outside these hours with advance notice.
Remote Availability:
This position might have the opportunity for a remote/hybrid option but is typically based out of our Operation Center, Crawfordsville, IN.
