Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at a private school in Jackson. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to perform a variety of cleaning tasks efficiently.
Duties
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming of floors and surfaces.
- Maintain restrooms by cleaning and sanitizing fixtures, replenishing supplies, and ensuring cleanliness.
- Respond promptly to custodial requests from staff and management.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; report any maintenance issues or supply shortages.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures while performing all cleaning duties.
Requirements
- Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred; experience in commercial or industrial cleaning is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Basic knowledge of facilities maintenance is advantageous; porter experience is also beneficial.
