Minimum Qualifications
- High school graduation or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years prior custodial experience preferably in a university environment/residential setting.
- The ability to read directions for the use and/or mixing of various cleaning chemicals and compounds and written instructions.
- Good interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively with customers such as students, co-workers, management and parents.
- Performs physically active work requiring frequent standing, reaching, walking, bending, shoveling, pulling, pushing, climbing on a ladder and lifting in order to perform various cleaning and set-up tasks.
- Frequent lifting requiring the execution of up to sixty pounds of force to move and use supplies, use cleaning aids and equipment.
- Works with cleaning chemicals and compounds and polishing materials that may produce strong and/or offensive odors.
- May work in various weather conditions with extremes in heat and cold.
- Completion of physical to verify the applicant’s ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Work sample to demonstrate the applicant’s ability to perform the duties of the position.
- May require a valid driver’s license acceptable to the University’s insurance carrier.
Desired Qualifications
AV equipment set-up experience is desirable.
